Initial Assessment

Biokineticists can help improve your quality of life, or your sporting performance, by providing you with a customised exercise health plan that addresses your specific needs. This is based on the outcome of a thorough individualised assessment.

Biokinetic Sessions

Biokinetic sessions apply scientifically based stretches and exercise, offering preventative treatment & rehabilitation to manage injuries & disease, and to do final phase rehabilitation following the onset of injury.

Biocore Pilates

Core conditioning exercise programs need to target all muscles that stabilize the spine and pelvis and run the entire length of the torso to be effective. Pilates works several muscle groups simultaneously, with a particular concentration on strengthening and stabilising the spine.

Maintenance Plans

For those that don’t do Pilates, consistent exericse is still recommended to maintain strength and a healthy quality of life… Talk to me about a tailor-made solution and maintenance plan post biokinetic rehab.

What is Biokinetics?

The word Biokinetics is taken from the Greek word “BIOS” which means “life” and “KINESIS” which means “movement“.

In other words, it refers to the maintenance of quality of life through the use of physical activity.

In essence, it represents “Life Through Movement.

Biokinetics is a medically recognized professional discipline, applying scientifically based physical activity, to either help prevent disease or to do final phase rehabilitation following the onset of disease. A Biokineticists can be thought of as a specialised exercise therapist that functions in professional alliance to health and medicine. The profession is recognised by and registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa.

What does a Biokineticist do?

A Biokineticist is an exercise specialist who increases a persons physical condition and the quality of life by means of physical assessment and the prescription of health exercise habits.

The Biokineticist is a member of the allied medical team who specializes in preventative medicine and final phase rehabilitation to improve the quality of life through movement.
